Having spent many months cycling around London engaged in an inadvertently obsessive relationship with its road signs, along with the concomitant research, I almost invariably have discovered many interesting – or at least mildly diverting, depending on your point of view – facts about the streets of London named after food or drink. I've also got reams of entirely inconsequential statistics I'm able to draw on from the raw data of street signs.
