Goats are a domesticated ruminant mammal, noted for their lively, frisky behaviour and kept for their milk and meat. Goat meat is one of the most widely-consumed meats in the world, similar to lamb in taste, but with much less fat content than chicken or most other red meats. It is usually cooked slowly and is often marinated first or cooked in a sauce, typically in stews or curries.
