Lavender is an aromatic plant of the mint family with pale violet flowers which give a floral, yet slightly sweet flavour to most dishes. When dried, the flowers can be used in a variety of culinary uses; as a herb or as part of herbes de provences, or adding flavour to tea or sugar. The flowers can also be candied and used in cake decoration.
