Sandwich Street, St. Pancras
previous next
A sandwich typically consists of two pieces of bread with a filling between them, most commonly meat or cheese, and is meant to be eaten with the hands. The sandwich was named after the fourth Earl of Sandwich, an 18th-century English aristocrat who wanted something he could eat at the gaming table that wouldn't make his hands sticky.
