Venison is the meat from a deer. It is typically available as steaks, sausages and ground meat, and is lower in fat, calories and cholesterol than meats such as pork, beef and lamb.

This yard was named after the Haunch of Venison Tavern which stood at one entrance to the site, itself possibly named after the speciality of the pub’s chef.
